Our community loves art, and folks in the Houston burner community are always looking to organize art projects we can bring to burns in Texas and beyond. Annually or semi-annually Houston Burners launch a call for proposals.
Art Organ: A public committee of volunteers serving at least one year terms (the Art Organ) meets virtually to review and decide grant funding in a transparent, community-driven manner, notifying the Houston Burner board of their decisions.
Look for an announcement and update here for the 2019 nomination process to assemble the volunteer group deciding 2019 Art grants. Grants for 2019 will include funding at least $2000 for projects in our community and beyond, with a preference given to projects that plan to participate in Texas regional events and Burning Man (the Gerlach regional ;).
